Group Represents Colorado’s 110 local credit unions;
over 1.5 million members in Colorado
DENVER, CO (July 20, 2010) – Cory Gardner for Congress announced today the endorsement of the Credit Union Association of Colorado (CUAC), the trade association which represents each of Colorado’s 110 state and federally chartered credit unions and over 1.5 million members across Colorado.
“We are proud to stand with Cory Gardner, someone who has accomplished real results in Colorado,” said Tim Dore, Vice President of Government Affairs for CUAC. “He has a long record of standing up for Colorado’s credit union members and small businesses. He will serve Colorado with honor and integrity in Congress, just as he has at the state capitol.”
The endorsement came unanimously from CUAC’s Credit Union Political Action Committee, who carefully reviewed the records of both candidates seeking office in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District.
“Cory has a record of supporting policies which actually create jobs and spur growth, particularly among small business. Credit union members can count on Cory Gardner to be a part of the solution when it comes to fixing our economy and creating new jobs,” said Pete Kirchhof, Interim President/CEO of the Credit Union Association of Colorado.
“This endorsement from the Credit Union Association highlights my long-standing commitment to small businesses across Colorado and within the financial community as well,” Gardner said.
About Credit Union Association of Colorado
The Credit Union Association of Colorado (CUAC) is a statewide trade association representing 110 Colorado credit unions and more than 1.5 million credit union members – one in three Colorado citizens. Each credit union, operated under state or federal regulation, is a member-owned, not-for-profit institution that returns its proceeds to each of its members in the form of lower fees, lower interest rates, and greater return on savings. Based in Denver the Association serves and supports credit unions and their members through legislative advocacy, media advocacy, education and training, and operational information.
