Ringing in the New Year

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

As the 4th Quarter draws to a close, I am excited to report that my campaign is only $10,000 away from reaching our year-end fundraising goal. With your help, we will not only meet that goal, but pass it before the New Year starts!   I know I can count on you to help meet our goal in the next 72 hours.

I hope you will consider contributing $10, $20, or even $100 by December 31st, to help my campaign meet the goal. Your support will guarantee that our campaign will start the New Year with the strongest momentum possible [as we work toward] victory in November.

It is plain to see that spending is out of control in Washington.  In the past year, Congress has passed:

  • a failed $787 billion stimulus package
  • a massive, pork-laden $410 billion spending bill filled with ear marks and tax hikes
  • a national energy tax, disguised as “clean energy”  and often referred to as “the biggest tax in American history”
  • not to mention Democrats in Congress just raised the debt ceiling

Fortunately, 2009 will soon be a memory and with the election in 2010, we have a chance to correct the mistakes of 2009 and prior years. It is time to put Washington on a spending diet and if elected I will do just that.  In the New Year, I will unveil my “1010 Plan.” The 1010 Plan focuses on the ideas I will pursue as a member of Congress to put our country back on track.  The 1010 Plan will put an end to business as usual in Washington, cap spending and balance the budget.

It’s easy to talk about fiscal responsibility and being a blue dog or a yellow dog. My record of holding the line on spending and tax increases is well established.  In Congress, I pledge to be the same champion of fiscal responsibility, limited government and personal responsibility that I am today. With your help, we can make a difference and move our country in the right direction.

Your financial contribution today will help me get our message of real solutions and Colorado leadership to working families across the district.

Together, we will win in 2010.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Cory

PS - Your support has been overwhelming.  Since entering the race in May, your support has helped me become the front-runner, moving the fourth Congressional District from a “lean Democrat” seat to a toss-up.  Rep. Markey has been placed on the top-ten most vulnerable members of Congress. I hope you will help the campaign reach its goal.
