The People's Message to Washington

Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Dear Friends-

Do you remember the Concord bridge? Massachusetts, April 19, 1775 – a shot that transformed itself into the birth of a nation. Today, Scott Brown’s victorious campaign is but one turning point in our nation’s history. He challenged the status quo, pushed back on the increased taxes put forth by the Democrats and he won.  Not with bullets but with ballots. Massachusetts voters sent a strong message to Washington, DC, that the era of arrogance is over.  No longer will the people of Massachusetts – or this country – sit back and take it while politics as usual destroys our freedoms and liberties.

The Bay State once again shines as a beacon for our country to stand up, the storied lantern of freedom for the world.  Let us use this opportunity to put a stop to spending in Washington, to balance the budget and to defeat massive tax increases like cap and trade and health care.

Just as the Patriots of 1775 held the Crown accountable so must we hold the politicians of today accountable when they say one thing on Main Street and a different thing once they get into power. Now is a time for principled leadership.

We can let the dust settle and rest on this historic victory or we can continue the fight here in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. I hope you will join with me and fight shoulder to shoulder to restore common sense fiscal discipline to Congress.  Please take a moment to volunteer or donate on my website.

Thanks
Cory
